06/01/2019 10:27
MHO, Market Harborough’s very own orchestra, is preparing to give its 18th concert under the baton of Stephen Bell on Saturday 26 th January at 7.30pm at the Methodist Church, Northampton Rd, Market Harborough
Our title for this concert is “Escape to the Country” as all the music is inspired by the countryside
We are opening with Strauss’s lovely waltz, ‘Tales from the Vienna Woods’, with its evocation of country sounds and folk songs
For our next item we are playing Brahms’s ‘St. Anthony Variations’; one his most popular pieces written along with several
others during a very productive holiday in the countryside
After the interval we are playing Beethoven’s famous and much loved Symphony No. 6, ‘the Pastoral’, which depicts a day in the
countryside complete with bird song and a storm scene
Do come along and listen, our aim as always is to provide the opportunity to hear great orchestral music live in our home town
